Community Projects

Certificate of Creating Wellbeing participants were tasked with creating a Community Wellbeing Project. A summary of each project is below.

Kindness in Sharing Stories Together (KISST)

A one on one conversation with Amber about belonging in Break O'Day. Whether you are new to the region or lived here all your life - what does that mean to you?

Caring for Carers

Marita and Kathleen are recognising Carers in our community. Caring for others can be unexpected and incredibly rewarding. It can also be challenging and exhausting.

Kid Kindness Bags

As a Mum of a young person, Kayla knows that new ideas for keeping young minds engaged and active are always welcome. Kayla has created a bag full of ideas for the lucky parents and their young ones at the Falmouth Childcare Centre

Pay-it-forward Kindness Cards

Giving is an incredible gift. Jacinta's Kindness Cards are a simple way for you to give and receive kindness. One of 101 ideas - when you buy a coffee, buy two, hand over the card and ask the barista to give a coffee and the card to someone else. The idea being they then pay it forward. It doesn't need to involve money. You'll start to see these cards pop-up in our community very soon.

Sprinkle of Kindness

Toilets' have may purposes and we all use them. Abbey, Karen and Nicole know they can be a place of retreat, refuge and safety. This project will add valuable information to the back of toilet doors firstly at the St Helens District High School, and then to our other Schools, with the dream of adding information to all public toilets in our locality.

Wellbeing Action

The Certificate of Creating Wellbeing gave us so many incredible ideas and resources, Leah, Michelle and Nic want to share them with you. A website is under construction www.wellbeingaction.org where you can access information, ideas, activities and resources on wellbeing. You will also see our mascot Octo the Octopus around town at pop-up events and markets!
